1. General Information
This Privacy Policy describes how Vireka Interactive ("we", "our" or "the company") collects, uses and protects information when you use the mobile application Return Reminder ("the app", "the service").
Return Reminder is an app for managing purchase return deadlines. It lets you record products, arrival dates, return windows, prices and photos, and receive reminders before your return window expires.
Core principle: All information you enter in Return Reminder (products, dates, photos, prices) is stored exclusively on your device by default. You may optionally enable cloud sync by signing in with your Google account, which stores your product data on our secure server for cross-device synchronisation. No account or registration is required to use the app.

3. Data We Collect
3.1 Data entered by the user
Return Reminder stores the information you voluntarily enter:
- Product name
- Arrival date and return window (number of days)
- Price and currency (optional)
- Store name (optional)
- Product link (optional)
- Product photo taken with the camera or selected from the gallery (optional)
- Product status (deciding, returned, kept)
By default, this data is stored exclusively in a local database on your device and is never transmitted to any server. If you enable cloud sync (see Section 7), this data is also stored on our secure server.
3.2 Cloud sync account data
If you choose to enable cloud sync by signing in with Google, we receive and store the following information from your Google account:
- Name
- Email address
- Profile picture URL
- Google account identifier
This data is used solely to identify your account for cloud synchronisation. We do not use it for marketing, profiling or any other purpose.
3.3 App preferences
The app stores your settings locally on your device:
- Notification reminder toggles (enabled/disabled per day)
- Personalised ads consent
- Pro purchase status (verified with Google Play)
- Cloud sync sign-in status
3.4 Data we do NOT collect
Return Reminder does not collect:
- Location data
- Usage analytics or tracking
- Browsing history
- Payment or financial information
4. How We Use Your Information
The information you enter in the app is used solely to:
- Display your products and their return deadlines
- Schedule local reminders using Android's alarm system
- Calculate money-at-risk and savings statistics (Pro)
- Sync your data across devices (cloud sync)
- Show ads via Google AdMob (free users only)
4.1 What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your data to any third party
- We do not share your product data with anyone (except for cloud sync infrastructure, see Section 7)
- We do not build user profiles or track your behaviour
5. App Permissions

Exact alarms
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM
Allows scheduling reminders at the exact configured time (9:00 AM on the reminder day by default). Without this, reminders may be delayed by the system.
Optional permissions
Notifications
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Allows showing return reminders. Only requested when you manually enable a reminder toggle in settings. Disabled by default.
Boot completed
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
Allows rescheduling alarms automatically after a device restart, since Android alarms do not survive reboots. No data is collected in this process.
Camera
CAMERA
Allows taking a product photo directly from the app. Only requested when you tap "Camera" while adding or editing a product. The photo is saved only to your device's local storage.
Advertising ID
AD_ID
Used by Google AdMob to show relevant ads to free users. You can manage consent from the app settings. Pro users do not see ads.
Return Reminder does not request location, microphone, contacts or general storage permissions. Reminders are entirely optional and disabled by default.
6. Storage & Security
6.1 Local database
All your products, dates, prices and photos are stored in a local SQLite database on your device, managed by Android Room. This database is never synced to any external server unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.
6.2 Photos
Product photos are saved in the app's private storage on your device. They are not accessible by other apps and are not uploaded to any server.
6.3 Your control
- Delete a product: Permanently removes it from the local database (and from the server if cloud sync is enabled)
- Uninstall the app: Removes all local data — products, photos and preferences
- Reminders: Enable or disable each type of reminder from the app settings
- Ads: Manage your personalised ads consent from the app settings
7. Cloud Sync
Return Reminder includes an optional cloud sync feature that backs up and synchronises your product data across devices. To enable it, you sign in with your Google account from the app settings.
7.1 What is stored on our server
When cloud sync is enabled, the following data is stored on our secure server, associated with your Google account:
- Your Google account name, email and profile picture (for account identification)
- Product names, dates, return windows and statuses
- Prices and store names (if provided)
- Product links (if provided)
We use your Google account information solely to identify your account and enable synchronisation. We do not use it for marketing, advertising or any other purpose. Product photos are not uploaded to our server.
7.2 Server security
Data stored on our server is:
- Transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
- Stored on a private server managed by Vireka Interactive
- Never sold or shared with third parties
- Accessible only to your account
7.3 Deleting your cloud data
You can delete your synced data in two ways:
- From the app: Delete your products while signed in — deletions are automatically synchronised to the server
- By request: Contact us at [email protected] to request full deletion of all your server-side data. We will process your request within 30 days
Signing out of cloud sync in the app does not delete your data from the server. Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete data from our server. To fully remove your cloud data, delete your products while signed in or contact us.
8. Third-Party Services
8.1 Google AdMob (free users only)
Free users see ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process:
- Advertising ID: To show relevant ads
- Device information: Model, Android version, screen resolution
- Interaction data: Ad clicks and view time
Pro users do not see ads and are not subject to AdMob data collection for advertising purposes.
Consent management: You can manage your personalised ads preference at any time from Settings > Privacy & Ads within the app.
8.2 Google Sign-In
Cloud sync uses Google Sign-In to authenticate your account. When you sign in, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We do not receive your Google password. Google's privacy policy applies to the authentication process.
8.3 Google Play Billing
The Return Reminder Pro purchase is processed through Google Play. Vireka Interactive does not receive or store payment data. Purchase management, transaction history and billing data are handled exclusively by Google Play under their own terms and privacy policy.
8.4 Product data fetching from URL
The app offers the option to enter a product link to automatically fetch its name and image. This request is made directly from your device to the product's website. Vireka Interactive does not log or store the URLs queried.
9. Your Rights
You have full control over your data at all times:
- Access: View all your data within the app
- Rectification: Edit any product at any time
- Erasure: Delete products individually or uninstall the app to remove all local data. For cloud data, delete products while signed in or contact us to request full deletion
- Portability: Your data is stored locally on your device (and optionally on our server if cloud sync is enabled)
- Cloud sync: Sign in or out of cloud sync at any time from the app settings
- Ads management: Change your personalised ads consent in the app settings
- Reminders management: Enable or disable each reminder type in the app settings
9.1 Managing system permissions
- Camera: System Settings > Apps > Return Reminder > Permissions
- Notifications: System Settings > Apps > Return Reminder > Notifications, or from the app settings
- Personalised ads: App Settings > Privacy & Ads
10. Protection of Minors
Return Reminder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:

- The updated version is published on this page, where you can review any significant changes
